Team Rae-Ann Raises $1,100 for the Alzheimer’s Association

John and Mary Griffiths, owners of Rae-Ann Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers, joined staff from all five of the company’s Cleveland-area facilities for the 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Lake Erie Crushers Stadium in Avon, Ohio  on Saturday, September 19.

Despite a rainy start, Team Rae-Ann was able to complete the three-mile walk to honor and support those with Alzheimer’s and raise over $1,100.

There’s a magical fairy garden in the courtyard at Rae-Ann Suburban, thanks to the vision of grounds manager Sam Harris and the help of Rae-Ann residents. Harris created a fairy garden at Rae-Ann Suburban with ten miniature displays. The garden has become an interactive activity for residents who painted houses, benches, and chairs and helped place ornaments and structures.

A lighthearted music video featuring 90-something-year-olds doing a parody of  the iconic Beastie Boys hit song, “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party),” has been viewed over 2 million times since it was posted to YouTube March 30.

Rae-Ann’s long-time friend and medical director, Dr. Karl Fotinos, passed away December 27, 2014.  Dr. Fotinos was always caring, compassionate, and dedicated to residents, believing that the best way to care for each patient was to personally get to know them as an individual. His professionalism, example, and warm personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
